Happy Tails

Every dog who is rescued by Rain City and adopter who finds the dog that completes their family, has their own unique story of how they came to find each other. We call these "happy tails"! We love sharing these stories in hopes that others will be inspired to find thier new family member through rescue, to share the joy of adoption and also for our friends in Georgia who don't get to see where their fosters go on the other side of the country.

Georgia, formerly Calla, has been with us for about three months-and she is a delightful, silly, sweet, and very enthusiastic new addition to our family.

We have been working hard to harness her enthusiasm into a well behaved pup-and she is doing great! SO SMART. In f...

I keep saying that Mallory is a Rescue Dog and truly she is. But the truth is that I did not rescue Mallory. Mallory rescued me. I'd had some major losses in my life just before I adopted Mallory. A friend of mine found Mallory posted on Rain City's web site. She had s...

It has now been 1 week since Briz (fna: Paisley) came home to us. She has unpacked her bags and settled right in.

We are so grateful to Rain City Rescue and all of their volunteers for helping to make this adoption possible. Briz is everything you said she was and mor...

Zander is the best dog ever! He arrived in our home in March 2014! He has been in our hearts ever since! He came crate trained, socialized and potty trained. He has his own Facebook page under Zander B. Hadley and posts his adventures. He comes to work with me once a w...

I am a long-ti...

After putting down our 9 year old cattle dog unexpectedly, we knew Bokeh our 1 1/2 year old cattle dog would need a buddy. So we searched for about 2 weeks, so many sights, so many nights on the internet, but nothing clicked, then we found Rain City Rescue. They had a...

My fiance and I were looking for a dog after my Aussie of 12 years, who was living in California with my parents, died of cancer in January. My fiance told me he wanted to get me one for my birthday, so I started looking. I've always had a dog in my life but since I mo...

On July 25, 2015, I drove north on I-5 from the Portland area to pick up Murphy. Not having been able to meet him yet as he had just arrived in Washington, I had a flood of emotions--excitement, as I had waited a long time for a dog of my own, and nerves, because it wa...
