After a very lengthy search of the hundreds of dogs available, we found “Kenya” with the RAIN organization.
The detailed description of her breed, size, and especially her personality were (we hoped) exactly what we had on our very specific wish list. We are lifelong dog owners and knew what we wanted.
We received a quick reply to our inquiry and were connected to Kenya’s foster family right away. We were able to learn even more about Kenya by talking with the foster family directly. We were informed of the various medical issues that had been addressed by RAIN – including being spayed. Once we were confident Kenya was the type of dog we were looking and the foster family felt comfortable that WE were a good fit for her they traveled a significant distance to allow us to meet her.
We were prepared for the possibility that we might not connect but were thrilled that it was “love at first site”. We are happy to report that Kenya (who we now call “Maggie Peaches”) joined our family like she had been with us all along. She is so happy and incredibly affectionate. Her personality was described perfectly in the original advertisement and we have loved getting to know her delightful personality more and more.
We could not be more grateful for the work of the RAIN organization. They turned our darling Maggie’s sad and hopeless life around with needed medical care, transportation, fostering, advertising and many hours of work to make the right connection for her. For all of THEIR hard work and generosity WE are reaping the rewards through Maggie’s boundless love.
