Rubicon (Rubi)

August 12, 2016

Rubicon "Rubi" (formerly Norma) was brought to our attention by a friend who saw her on Facebook. We lost our 6-year old black lab rescue "Daisy" suddenly and unexpectedly 2 years ago and had been looking for the right girl to join our family. We currently have a male 13-year old plot hound mix "Olerud" that was adopted in 2006 as a rescue from Hurricane Katrina. When we talked to Tracy, Rubi seemed like the perfect fit for us and she couldn't have been more spot on. Rubi is a young (1-year'ish) Plot Hound and although she has the energy and playfulness of a young pup, she is so gentle with and around our older guy, "Ole". We have lots of dogs in our life (grand dogs, friends dogs) and Rubi has adapted to each and everyone to make the perfect introduction. She is the snuggler/lover we longed for and has filled the void in our hearts that was left after the loss of our sweet Daisy. Rubi is getting more and more comfortable with her surroundings and learning new things all the time. She LOVES going to doggie daycare every Thursday and is the favorite among both staff and other dogs. Her favorite things are rides in our Jeep (especially with the tops off), trips to the off-leash dog park and hiking the many beautiful trails of the Pacific Northwest. Rubi will have her first camping experience in the next few weeks and know she will do great and have a blast. We can't thank Tracy and all the people at Rain City Rescue enough for bringing Rubi into our lives. ~ Jon and Kristi Lovern
